Move Along Inc. will be joining efforts with Tully’s Good Times on Thursday, November 18, 2010 for a fund raising night. What else is going on Thursday night? Don‚Äôt miss out the amazing NBA doubleheader starting at 8 PM with Phoenix Suns versus Orlando Magic and immediately following with Denver Nuggets versus Portland Blazers at 10:30 PM. Syracuse, NY, November 7, 2010 — In 2010-2011, Move Along Inc. and comm.UNITY are collaborating to improve Move Along‚Äôs internal and external communication plans by expanding the organization‚Äôs presence in the Syracuse community. ‚Äúcomm.UNITY is a student-run organization at Syracuse University that works with local non-profit community organizations on a yearly basis to help them create and improve sustainable communication plans.‚Äù Move Along is a non-profit organization that educates the community about living with disabilities and creates sporting activities that are adapted for people with disabilities to showcase that limitations won‚Äôt stop them from enhancing their abilities. This is a fantastic opportunity and an educational experience for the students of Syracuse University‚Äôs comm.UNITY to help a growing organization re-create their advertising, website, and other aspects of social media. As a team, Move Along and comm.UNITY are developing communication strategies and creating a relationship that will bridge together the local community and Syracuse University. Sled Hockey 2010-2011 Schedule

Our first Sled Hockey Practice of the season starts on November 7th 2010 from 6:15-7:30 pm at Cicero Twin Rinks. By the feel of it outside, We’d say it’s Sled Hockey Season!!¬†¬†Move Along¬†will have an information meeting this Sunday, October 24th @ 3:00p.m.~5:00p.m. The meeting will be held at:¬†

Cicero Twin Rinks,¬†5575 Meltzer Court, Cicero, NY 13039,¬†Phone: (315).752.7465

¬†This will be the home of the Move Along Central New York Flyers (Sled Hockey Association).¬† At the meeting we will discuss what the Sled Hockey Season will “look like”, the goals that we have on behalf of Move Along Inc. for the Sled Hockey Season, expectations of participants, as well as listening to the expectations of the families/participants involved in the program.¬† It is very important that you attend this meeting if you plan on participating at the adult or youth level this Fall/Winter.¬†¬†

We are¬†really excited to get this season started…¬† We’re going to have a lot of fun!!¬†¬†Coaches,¬†Team Manager(s), Equipment Manager, and a Physical Therapist will be attending the meeting to field questions you might have.

To continue raising awareness between the organization and the community, we are holding our annual Move Along Inc. Kickoff Event on June 19th at Leighton Elementary School in Oswego, NY from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The feature event will be a wheelchair basketball game between the Move Along Flyers wheelchair basketball team and a celebrity team comprised of star athletes and constituents of Onondaga, Oswego, and surrounding counties.

The event will also include a wheelchair basketball 3 vs 3 tournament which community members and businesses can register for by emailing info@movealonginc.com with a team name and 4 member roster. Each team will be asked to provide a $100 donation for entry.

Move Along Inc. kicked off ‚ÄúRebound‚Äù, our youth wheelchair basketball program that we are hosting for children in the greater CNY area!! It was truly amazing!! Another program we are building with great potential!! Syracuse, New York (March 19, 2010) ‚Äì Move Along Incorporated has officially joined resources with Syracuse Flyers Wheelchair Sports Inc through a legal name change and election of a new Board of Directors.
The mission of Move Along Inc. is to provide recreational opportunities for people who live with disabilities in Central New York. By offering an array of athletic and artistic programming and opportunities for peer-to-peer support, Move Along Inc. will help build and develop participants‚Äô self-confidence and enhance their sense of self-worth, thereby enabling them to better integrate themselves fully into society and act as their own advocates.
In recognition of the election to the Move Along Inc. Board of Directors, thank you to the following individuals:

Programming formerly operating under the name Syracuse Flyers Wheelchair Sports Inc. will continued to be offered by Move Along Inc. without any interruptions.¬† The Board of Directors of Move Along Inc. welcomes assistance from the community as they to pursue networks for funding and sponsorship opportunities enabling the growth of current programs at youth, recreational, and adult/competitive levels.
